Many of you have asked how my health is and I figured it's time for an update. I went into the doctor on October 5, 2016 and he did an ultrasound to look at the little growth I have in my neck. It was found 6 months ago at my last check up. This little growth measures .28/.5/.6 cm, it's just tiny. He thinks this may represent residual thyroid tissue rather than a residual tumor. It hasn't grown a lot since we found it in April and so we decided to just to monitor it. Also, my thyroglobulin level is only increasing VERY slowly so we are not concerned about taking any action at this time. We decided to go to yearly visits! WAHOO! He taught me how to check my neck for further growths or concerns and if I find anything I'll just make an appointment then.
This has been good news, to know that we're still under detection but not of of the water just yet. I'm okay with that as I know now I just have to keep on moving forward and pursuing my life and enjoy every moment.
Secondly, he's been monitoring my iron and diabetes levels as we've been struggling with those. He found that I am extremely low on iron and put me on a supplement. My A1c is at 5.7 and he says that if I were to get even .1 higher I'll have to go on some low dose diabetes medication to help keep that under control. We are not going to medication rather I will be working on making some lifestyle changes to help lose weight and control this number as that has worked in the past. I will need to recommit myself to diet and exercise.
Here's to another life changing year as we work on getting healthier. Everyday a challenge, everyday an adventure, bring it on!
Thank you all for your help and support! Love you all!

I was diagnosed with Papillary Thyroid Cancer here's my story

Return of the cancer

Once again, Cancer
T-Cancer
I just want people to know about the things that are currently happening in my life. In January I went into the doctor's office thinking I had strep throat or something because I hadn't been able to recover from a cold. While I was visiting with the doctor she noticed my neck was swollen and so she felt it and realized that my thyroid was enlarged, she suggested that we do blood work to see what was going on.
The results on it came back as to be in the normal range, so we decided to press on to do an ultrasound of the thyroid because SOMETHING was going on. When we received those results there were two hard nodules and one cyst, all in different locations. According to statistics this should not be concerning. My doctor had talked with another doctor and they suggested we check back in on them in six months. As I got off the phone I just felt sick inside and knew I needed to see someone else for a second opinion. As I thought that my doctor had called me back and told me I should do that too. She told me that I should go to an ENT (Ears, Nose, Throat) Specialist.
I went to one and he decided I needed to get the two harder nodules biopsied. I got both hard nodules biopsied one located on the right lobe of the thyroid and the other on the left lobe of the thyroid. Both resulted in the news of being malignant (cancer). This is a rare find for my age and having multiple nodules on the thyroid. Now I have been diagnosed with Papillary Thyroid Cancer.
